The Mechanic is primarily responsible for maintaining and repairing all equipment, including wheel loaders, forklifts, and material handlers, to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. This role involves diagnosing faults, performing routine maintenance, and conducting repairs to keep our fleet and equipment in top condition.
This position requires the use of various hand tools and diagnostic equipment to identify and fix issues, ensuring that all machinery is ready for use and meets operational standards.
Training and Education
1. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (Optional but Beneficial) InAutomotive Technology:
Offers specialized knowledge in vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics.
2. Specialized Training & Certifications
Heavy Equipment Maintenance Courses: Short courses on maintaining and repairing heavy machinery and equipment.
Diesel Engine Technician Training: Courses focused on diesel engine repair and maintenance.
Hydraulic Systems Training: Specialized training in hydraulic systems used in heavy equipment.
Computer Skills Training: Proficiency in diagnostic software, Microsoft Office, or maintenance management systems.
3. On-the-Job Experience:
Even without a formal degree, experience in heavy equipment maintenance, automotive repair, or construction can provide the necessary skills. Practical experience in diagnosing and fixing machinery, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently is highly valuable for an Ozinga Mechanic.
